Amy and Carl December 15th 2007

Photographed by Mariah and Melissa
Well all that snow is good for one thing anyway, wintery wedding photos! Amy and Carl tied the knot in Bolton Mass ... amid snowmen, twinkly lights, and sparkly trees. How festive! The reception was at the Nashoba Winery- an intimate and cozy spot on a cold and windy evening. I sent Melissa outside to take that fabulous photo of the winery all lit up at night, while I stood by the fireplace (taking reception candids- I swear!) Happy Wedding and Happy Holidays!

Miami vs. Providence

Seriously. The crazy snow storm was a little traumatic(see photos on right). But we are lucky to have had the two days of sun and surf(see photos on left), so there are no complaints here, just observations: Miami wins!
Just want to give a shout out to all of the people from the Avalon Hotel and the South Seas hotel, thanks for all of you help and cooperation during our shoot, we appriciate it! But now we have to hate you because you are still there and we are here in the cold. But we know how hard you all work, so don't forget to take a minute and look at all of the georgeous things around you!

Snap girls on location in Miami

It's hard to believe that we took this photo just 24 hours ago during our morning swim at the one and only Miami beach! As I look out my window now the snow falls and I wear a big sweater and my hands are cold. Bummer. No matter how wintery it gets, it's always summer somewhere else...
Check back next week as we will post more photos from our trip to Miami to photograph the Avalon and South Seas hotels. Say warm!

albums album albums!

WE LOVE ALBUMS!!! WE LOVE PHOTOS!!! I guess we are in the right business. I can't wait to deliver these books to their owners. Don't tell Courtney-but I am going to suprise her with hers tomorrow - of course if she's checking the blog I just ruined my surprise. OOPS. 90% of everyone we've photographed has done their album- that's amazing. It's not too late my little 10% ers, come and visit so you can have a beautiful book too. It really means so much to us that
our couples have an album to pull out and remember their day. I feel like Santa.

Heather and Jack and Baby on the Way!!!

Photographed By Mariah
H & J got married about 5 years ago- and now they are expecting a mini - Jack! I'm not sure their puppy Chloe is thrilled about it, or is she just relaxing in this photo? I cannot wait to meet the newest arrival. It's funny to think back to their wedding, they had a beautiful day at Linden place in Bristol. Now they have a cozy little house in pawtuxet village, 2 funny dogs, home improvement projects, and a baby boy due in february! Time flies. Congrats to one of my favorite couples! keep me posted....

The McCarthy Family

Photographed by Mariah
Wow! November is like a crazy Snap! reunion. I photographed Dale and John Mccarthy's wedding 9 years ago!!! Now they have two amazing kids who I completley enjoyed spending my
Sunday morning with. I said it before, and it's true- there's nothing like seeing my couples years after their wedding with families of their own. I love the continuing photo friendships ... just hope I am retired by the time their kids get married! HA!

Jessica and Mike's Engagement Photos (and Hailey too)

Photographed by Mariah
Well, the good weather is almost gone, but we managed to squeeze Jessica and Mike's photo session into one of the last nice days of the fall. J & M are getting married next September, and hailey (Mike's daughter) will be the flower girl. Hailey is very excited and only had to be bribed gently once with a trip to the Disney store. She is going to be an absolute princess - I can't wait to see her in her fancy flowergirl dress. Lucky for her she is going to be getting one fabulous step mom - not like the stepmothers at the Disney store at all! Jessica is so sweet and totally in love with Mike. I love the photo of her looking up at him!

Snap Couples! to Snap! Parents.... The Simpsons

Photographed by Mariah
I photographed Greg and MC's wedding.... hmmm I think about 5 years ago. This is one of my favorite parts about my job. Watching a couple grow into a family. We photographed the twins when they were babies, and now they are super cute 2 year olds. I was so happy to get a chance to meet their new little brother. The kids were so cute and so full of energy. I don't know how MC and Greg do it, but they look great! Keep up the good work guys, and thank you so much for letting me be a part of your growing family.

Snapgirls on location... NYC!

Sometimes in the off season (although it really hasn't slowed down around here) we'll get to do some fun projects. Atlantic Stars Hotels asked us to photograph their beautiful property the Park South Hotel in New York City. It was nice to take a road trip- we stayed at the hotel which was great! photographed their rooms, lobby and restaurant the Black Duck.
Of course one of the perks was having an amazing dinner at the Black Duck when we were finished. We had to walk around the block a few times after dinner to compensate for that meal! Our compliments to head chef Hector Tice.
If you are ever in NY and need a great place to stay - definitely head to the Park South.

Lindsay and Dan November 9th 2007

Photographed by: Mariah, Melissa, and Trish
So, Lindsay came into our office to meet us- and pointed to a photo on the wall of a bride and a groom snuggling with beautiful trees and soft light all around them. "I want that!" she said. "Of course, we will do our best"- we replied. There's just one problem- you are getting married in November and we will be doing the formals at 4:30 - sunset is 4:45! Impossible you say? I think not! Lindsay had faith, and it paid off. It was a little cold- but no mind. We sped from the church to the park, jumped out and got AMAZING fall photos of Lindsay and Dan snuggling under the trees. Mission accomplished. Everything sbout the day was smooth, thanks to fabulous Pamela D'Orsi Ryan, Lindsay's wedding coordinator. Lindsay and Dan are two of the nicest people, I think Dan must have thanked us about a dozen times. He is such a genuine, sweet, and gracious person. Lindsay's mom made us feel like part of their big italian family, and I think we managed to get everyone photographed on her Christmas list! Dan's mom belted out a stirring rendition of "I will survive", much to the pleasure of all the ladies on the dance floor. Lindsay and Dan braved the elements for some photos on the deck of the Biltmore and then danced the night away upstairs. Nice dip by the way! Hope you are having a great time in Puerto Rico. see you soon!

Asma and Steve October 28th 2007

Photographed by: Mariah, Trish and Melissa
This was an unbelievable day! October 28th and bright beautiful sunshine. Asma and Steve were so happy. It's hard to look thru their photos without getting a little teary eyed. They were both crying as Asma came down the aisle. My favorite moment of the day was when they got to hug and really look at each other right after the ceremony. After the ceremony and photos, the rest of the day was relaxed and fun! Their two families and cultures melded perfectley. The food was amazing and the dancing was contagious! Trish snuck Asma away from the party to take that beautiful photo of her on the lawn with her gorgeous dress. (Asma's idea to sit like that) way to work it. The newlyweds are in Bali for their honeymoon! Jealous? me too!!!

Album Extravaganza!

We love making albums! It's like Christmas every day atound here when Kevin our very enthusiastic UPS driver delivers our albums from the manufacturer. (stay tuned for a photo of Kevin if he slows down long enough for us to take his picture). We have had an amazing season filled with gorgeous photos. It is such a pleasure to see all of those photos, realized to their full potential- in a kick ass wedding album! We have a vision for the album as we photograph the wedding, and when the album is finally complete it really is a work of art. Thanks to everyone that has ordered their wedding albums- and for those who haven't....

Wendy and Mike - October 20, 2007

Photographed by Trish and Melissa
Trinity Church and New York Yacht Club
It was a georgeous day in newport! After several days of rain the week before it was not looing good, but the skies cleared and it was a go! Wendy had a very cool two piece dress and everyone was floored when they saw her, it was perfect. She and the bridemaids were all very emotional before the ceremony, it was so sweet how they kept weeping into theirchampagne glasses. The ceremony was beautiful and we quite enjoyed lurking in the balcony getting some great shots of it all. This shot of the wedding party is one of my favorites, it's so hard to get that many people to stand together and look interesting, I need to have a giant rock formation with me at all times I think.
So the tent was perched on the edge of what is one of the steepest hills around, and although it was obviously more than adequately secure, I was in a panic over the possability of us all sliding down the hill during the dancing. Turns out that it was indeed secure, as this group were total danicng maniacs! I felt bad when the wedding ended. Everyone, especially Wendy and Mike were having the best time ever and the dance moves were awesome. Just when I thought I had seen it all, they started doing an imaginary double dutch thing where the people jump in and out, it was great!
So best wishes to the Ryans and the Hinmans, thanks for having us as part of the wedding, it was a pleasure!

Asma's Mehndi Party October 14th 2007

Photographed by: Trish and Mariah

We had never photographed a Mehndi before- and didn't really know what to expect. We got to retire our usual black outfits, for something a little more colorful though! That was refreshing! Asma told us we'd blend in better in bright colors, so we added a little red and orange to our "photograhers" look. Asma had given us an itinerary, which seemed pretty involved.... but once we got there the vibe of the evening was laid back, relaxed, cheerful, joyful and fun! Asma looked amazing in her orange and yellow dress- I couldn't wait to see Steve's reaction to her. He had never seen her in traditional Pakistani clothes. The women all looked amazing, and entertained everyone with their beautiful festive singing and dancing. Iwas especially impressed by Asma's sister Sara and her 2 brothers who did a great job with their dancing. Well done! Watching them practice was hilarious. Steve's good friend, Dr. Steve also dazzled us with his dancing. It was so nice to see Steve's family blending so easily with Asma's. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. I know we did.
Lastly- I love the last photo in the series that trish took of the dancing- that's how it felt!

Asma and Steve Engagement Portrait

Photographed by: Mariah and Trish
We met Asma and Steve in Bristol for their engagement session. After many scheduling conflicts, and rainy days we finally got a perfect afternoon and spot for their photos. I'm so glad we waited! Steve looks very handsome with his blue eyes and blue shirt- and hello! blue background. He was a really good sport and kept us all laughing. Asma is so beautiful, she is a pleasure to photograph. This was a whirlwind weekend for them-
Asma's mehndi party was the next night... we were there for that too. (see above.) Can't wait for the wedding guys!

Julie and Stephane - October 13, 2007

Photographed by Mariah and Trish - Blithewold mansion, Bristol - Magnifique!
Well, we had quite a day with these two! They were so fun and so into the photos, Stephane is a total poser, but in a good way. Being a producer, he had some of his own ideas about various poses and shots we should take ie: See above left, groom 'lurking' in distance, and the black and white next to it, groom 'working it'. But I have to say that the more you put in the more you get out, and I believe that it has paid off, awesome job! Thanks for having us as part of the day, we had a great time with you. Julie was a real trooper walking all over the place in very high heals and an ankle injury, thanks for enduring the pain for the photos! Remember us this winter freezing here in Rhode Island while you are enjoying the sun out there in LA!

Mariah, 2 Melissa's and the King of Serendipity

Last night we had a photolounge only event at a lovely wedding in Bristol. Randy and Melissa from Serendipity were the official photographers for the event. We couldn't resist peer-pressuring them into the lounge with us. We brought a prop box (as you can see from these photos- we don't generally wear boa's and devil horns to our weddings) and everyone had a blast acting goofy and taking there own pics. the lounge was a surprise gift to the groom - he loved it!!! And his mom and dad, who were the suprise-ers, couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. What a blast! Randy- thanks for putting that together for us! I hope we get to work together again. Hope Jody is feeling better, sorry we missed her!!!

Perrin and Jonathan 9/29/07

Photographed by Mariah and Trish, Westport MA.
Well, there are so many fun parts of this wedding to mention, it's hard to pick. But I think the highlight for me was the funny dancing at the end of the night, I had to put these photos in! It was a beautiful day, not sure what the rain plan was, but it would have made it a lot less picturesque, the weather was awesome. The wedding reception was held at the brides grandparents home in westport, what a view! I particuarly liked the grooms toast to the bride where he detailed the night they first met, it was very sweet and it's obvious that Perrin has done well for herself by marrying a man who is totally in love with her! But I think it's mutual! Thanks for having us as part of your day, enjoy sailing in the Greek Isles...yes I am totally jealous. Flowers by Sayles livingston in case you are wondering, awesome as usual.

Tim and Tina 9/28/07

Photographed by Mariah and Trish at Glen Manor House
It was almost to warm to be a Fall wedding, but we all seemd to manage through! What luck to have such a beautiful day for your wedding. Tina and Tim are a really nice couple, and now they are one big family! How lucky to have so many good looking and sweet kids. Oh and two super cute dogs too, who I believe were very offended to not be invited to the wedding.
I know that one of the highlights of the day for Tina was riding to her reception in the horse and carriage. Whenever I have seen it done in the past, there is always some reason why it doesn't quite work out, but this day it was perfect, and it looked so good for the photos! It's nice when things all come together like that, the rest of the night seemed to do the same. Best of luck to the new couple and family, enjoy Aruba!!!
