Brie and Josh's tent was absolutely breathtaking- spectacular!!! Thanks to Brie's good taste and the fabulous talents of John Orton, Stoneblossom, and Morin's. What a team, what a dreamy palette of autumn gorgeousness. I love everything about it! After an hour of flitting around in the beautiful light we joined the rest of the wedding for the evening's festivities. Blue light galore, photolounge frolicking, tasty desserts... what more could a snap! girl ask for?

Aaah, fall! Finally! I love you autumn... thanks for being so pretty for Brie and Josh's wedding day. Actually it wasn't just pretty, it was perfect. Brie was a vision in her lovely gown and amazing bubble veil, so fun! As promised, we made it to Rosecliff... and we managed to get there a little ahead of everyone else so we could snap around the grounds. Highlights of the evening for me? Certainly the ballroom all decked out in pinks and grey. Ooooh... the candy bar too! I spied that while I was outside taking some blue light photos. I saw the candy bar through the window and ran right in to make sure I could get some candy ... I mean photos.... while no one was looking. Best reception moment though? Definitely Tori's dad's toast. He gave her a stuffed puppy (a toy she had carried everywhere as a little girl) I think he must have been saving it for a long while to bust out someday at her wedding. We all cried!

Tori and Joe and Rosecliff in Newport, Part One

How do we love Tori?... let us count the ways.

Well, first of all she has a big personality so it only makes sense she should have a big dress, lots of fabric, big train...little teenie bride.
Let me paint a picture for the second reason we love Tori...
Trish and I pulled up to her parent's house and spied across the street a beautiful little wooded grassy area that would be perfect for a portrait of Tori. Only two problems with this idea: a really big white dress and the fact that it had just rained (well was actually still kind of raining) and the spot in question was soggy and also littered with rotting pears. Hmmm...
So Trish asked, "Tori, what are the chances we could get you to go outside and let us photograph you in that area with the soggy grass and rotting pears?"
To which Tori replied...
"The chances are really good! Where do you want me?"
We heart Tori.

Which brings me to Joe...
Why do we love Joe? Well, because he worked the romance BIG TIME in the photos we took at the beach. It's no easy task putting up with all of the snappers posing ideas while risking ridicule from your groomsmen, but Joe handled it like a pro and even had a few ideas of his own.
We heart Joe.

Well, the love fest continues with more snapping around Rosecliff ... so stay tuned!

Nikki + John at the Glen Manor, Part 2

Now that we've gotten the nuptials out of the way, it's time to get our photo on... We made our way around Glen Manor and even managed to find some time to stop and enjoy the view and do a little snuggling on the bridge.

Photo time is all too short though and pretty soon it was time to head in for the reception. I think this might be the part Nikki was looking forward to the most. She loves to dance! The proof is in the series of wacky dancing pix at the bottom of this post. We rounded out the night nicely with some blue light specials and voila! it was a wrap...

Nikki is the kind of girl who is the life of the party, you can hear her laughing from the other side of the room and you can't help but smile to yourself. John is a big fan of laughter and happiness, which Nikki exudes, so a match was made! What a great match it is! Nikki and John prepared there own personal wedding vows secretly from one another and when they read them during the ceremony they words were virtually the same. Common threads like laughing, cherishing, traveling were woven through both.

My favorite line had to be from Nikki though who said "I love you and I would follow you anywhere." She said it with such conviction that you just know she means ANYWHERE, good or bad... forever. There wasn't a dry eye in the house.

What do you say when the number one request of the bride and groom is a walk over to Dunkin Donuts after the wedding party pictures are over? You say "Peace, Linden Place! We're going to get an iced coffee!" Amanda and Jeremy abstained from two of their very favorite things in the world in order to look great for their wedding day. #1 Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee for whiter teeth #2 Donuts for skinny-ness. I happen to love Dunkin' Donuts so I don't know how they stayed away so long. And what's sweeter than an iced coffee? A surprise serenade from Jeremy in the middle of the reception! Not to mention cupcakes and candy! This is one sugar filled blog post!

When I met Amanda and Jeremy I thought they were two of the nicest people! They just struck me as being genuinely sweet. So I wasn't surprised when I saw the touching things Amanda had made for her parents on her wedding day (Her Dad cried when he got his hanky!). Being a Mommy myself I even got emotional! I hope my kids grow up to be as thoughtful as these guys. One thing that did surprise me was Amanda's dress! Va Va Va Voom! I didn't except our little sweetie pie to look so sexy! Hello! Jeremy, you looked pretty handsome yourself!

Looking at these pictures you just can't help but see how in love these two are and what nice people they are. And let's not forget the sexiness! (Amanda, I know I'm totally embarassing you right now, but deal with it! You looked amazing!)

Being around Josh and Brie makes you pause and enjoy your surroundings. Usually I talk a mile a minute and snap! like mad... Brie and Josh have a really calming presence and being around them you can't help but become a little more still and reflective. I like it.

Want to look like you are really in love in your wedding photos?

Follow Tori and Joe's lead... does it get much more romantical? Nope.

Tori was a little shall we say "diligent" leading up to the wedding. This is a girl who likes to organize, likes to lead, and knows what she wants! However, you'd be hard pressed to find a bride who was more laid back or enjoyed herself more on her wedding day then Tori.

I think Tori is full of surprises and she's going to keep things interesting for Joe for many years to come! Here's to passion and a flawless wedding, cheers!

Deborah and Clarel ...Wedding Weekend Festivities, Tennis Hall of Fame and The Arabella

Lucky me! I spent the day after Clarel and Deborah's wedding with the gang, who ended up feeling like old friends by the end of the night. First, I met up with them at the Tennis Hall of Fame for the "Nuptial Cup." A fitting activity considering Deborah and Clarel found each other through their love of tennis. What a beautiful day to be at the Tennis Hall of Fame, which a gorgeous place! C + D were able to play for ten minutes on the grass court in the horse shoe piazza, such a treat!

As if that wasn't enough fun, we finished off the day with a sunset sail on the Arabella with family and friends. A perfect ending to a perfect weekend.

Deborah and Clarel at Blithewold ... Part One

I have coined a new phrase to describe Deborah and Clarel, "Charis-magnets". It's hard to describe these two, but I think charismagnets comes pretty close. You are drawn to them, it just makes you feel good being around them. It's like a nice big warm hug... It was rough going on Monday morning after spending the weekend with these two, the withdrawl was brutal! But, I am just grateful for my little time in the glow of the sunny place that was Clarel and Deborah's wedding. I'm sure all the wedding guests felt the same as they seemed to be basking in the charismagnet rays too.

Deborah met Clarel while Deborah was fundraising for WGBH. They fell in love through their mutual love of tennis and soon discovered they were a perfect fit in life and perfect partners on the dance floor as well as the tennis court. Seriously, every girl at the wedding wanted to be Deborah floating around the dance floor in her dreamy twirly dress with her equally dreamy husband.

Jodi and Tim, it was love at first sight at Narragansett Beach when they were in their early teens. Stolen glances and stolen Twix bars from the concession stand where Tim worked eventually won Jodi's heart. It's only fitting that we should return to the scene of the crime (literally) or at least that's what we planned. Unfortunately, hurricane Earl had other ideas. We scrapped our beach photo-plan but Earl could not keep us down... we ended up with fun umbrellas which we barely needed and a smile from Jodi that lights up every room. Who needs sunshine with her around anyway?! It's true... see for yourself!

Alison + Alex at Blithewold Mansion, Part One

Alex and Alison, or "Alixon" as their friends refer to them are a match made in heaven. Just being around these two makes you feel warm and fuzzy.

A snap! first below... I was unable to decide on a favorite ring photo, so I had to include all three photos. The result of the photographical stylings of Trish, they are all beautiful in their own way... a big part of what we do here at snap! is editing and weeding through photos, but with these I was at a loss...

Diamonds really are a girl's BFF.

Alison carried this locket with a photo of her mom, so sweet. This veil was also her mothers. I am sure Alison's mom would be so impressed with what a warm, caring and beautiful woman Alison is.

The make up artist attached to the brush... attached to the hand...

is none other than our friend Ms. Robin Mcaloon. Look at that creamy skin she gets to work with! A makeup artists dream I bet!

She wanted wispy grass/ beachy kind of feel- I think we got it!

Nothing makes me happier than a bride who adds a little pizazz to the traditional white bridal attire! What else makes me happy? Kate Spade! Sarah is two for two here! Green shoes and an awesome little clutch...

Finishing touches before the dress. Sarah looks beautiful!

While I was with the ladies Sarah was over at Harkness Memorial State Park in CT with the guys! Looks like they were having a good time!

I did Sarah and Zack's engagement shoot over a year ago. Zack is in the Coast Guard. Two days after our shoot he was on active duty. He was gone for almost a year! Thankfully he came back to us unharmed!

A big thank you to Zack for serving our country and being so brave...

The big reveal!! Sarah told me that this is the moment she was looking forward to the most. Looks like Zack is pretty excited too!

Sarah looks almost giddy in this one! Love it!

Romantical! Harkness is one of my favorite venues! It's always a treat to go there.

I don't think that this is a situation that happens too often. Sarah is almost a foot shorter than Zack! She should commission someone to design her a fashionable step ladder to carry around for impromptu kisses. This step was perfect for the height difference.

The complete wedding party! Those kids are all of Sarah and Zack's nieces and nephews. I love a wedding with lots of kids! It always add a little excitement to the day. You never know what they are going to do!

I know, I know... the first snap! is only supposed to be one photo. I have scolded Trish a million times for posting more than one photo in the first snap!. I just couldn't help myself, and besides I was with Deborah and Clarel for 3 events. We kicked it off with a beautiful wedding and Blithewold, snuck in a few games of tennis at the Tennis Hall of Fame, and then ended it with a lovely sail around Newport Harbor. What a great day and what a great couple! Amanda and Jeremy are so sweet and so in love! The proof is in the pictures! Every time I snapped a picture of them it was cuteness overload!

Here is our second Sarah and Zack! Sarah and Zack #1, just got married, so these guys will be their 2011 replacements! I was looking forward to their photodate in Newport because we really hit it off when they came for a visit a while back. Sarah is a big blog fan (and so is her mom- shout out to Nancy!) so I am sure they are pretty excited that now it's their turn... so here we go!

A very blond, very good looking family of three!

Sarah and Zack are having their wedding at Belle Mer, but haven't had much of a chance to explore Newport. I took them to a favorite scenic overlook...

They wasted no time enjoying the view, and of course each other. Snuggling is the best, isn't it?

I love this shot!

More snuggling, lots of "pecs" action going on here. Zack has muscles on top of his muscles. I would imagine he's nice to hug, I tried to weasel my way into a hug from him, but alas, Sarah wasn't really having it.

Fav photo of the evening! Zack pulled up wearing these sunglasses and I knew he'd want to wear them in a few shots. This photo makes me happy because it kind of looks like they are on the moon. If they form a punk rock band, I hope they use this as their album cover. That may be a stretch, maybe they could form a pec- rock band...

A Little Photo Lounge Fun from Laurie and Mike's Wedding

Well, I have discovered that Mike and Laurie totally misbehaved at their wedding and did not take any photo in the Photo Lounge!!! How outrageous is that? Just so you know I did mentioned it to them a couple of times that night, but I think that they were having so much fun with their guests that they lost track. Oh well, we got lots of other amazing photos of them.

But I still wanted to share a few choice images from the Lounge anyway...

This is the BEST photo that has ever happened in the Photo Lounge thus far!

Back for more, I knew you would be. Who could resist these two good looking people...the answer to that is no one!

I seriously cannot stop looking at Laurie's hair! It's so awesome!

Mike has so many looks, here's serious, but he can do cute and funny too!

They are such a sweet couple, and very in love with each other!

The light was so beautiful! I love how they look like they are cutting right through the sunlight.

Such a classic, everything was so perfect!

I met Laurie and Mike so long ago that it felt like the wedding would never come, but it did and it was an awesome day and she was an absolute vision!!! Mike is a lucky guy!

Not to mention that Laurie's last name is Gilmore, so I felt right at home with my people, although we are not related, but whatever.

This shot below might be a favorite of mine from the whole season, just something about it!

Oooh, bridal goodness.

Her hair was a masterpiece. And all that spraying paid off as her hair did not move the entire day!

Mike's friends helping him get it together...after what sounded like a night of hazing! I wonder how many 'misc' charges came up from the Crowne Plaza?!!?

Laurie's tiny girly ring proped up inside Mike's giant man ring!

Laurie and her mom, who helped with so much of the wedding planning, they were so cute together, loved her dress!

We went over to Aldrich for a few shots upstairs before the ceremony, here we are in the bathroom!

Ah, the Glen Manor... it's like an old friend! Strangely, Jen and John's wedding was my first at the Glen for this season, but it was great to be back!

Beautiful peony bouquet by Sayles.

Jen's dress, so sweet and perfect for her.

I love me a veil. This one was made for the bride by her maid of honor, Erin.

Speaking of sweet and sparkly, this is our handsome groom John (lawyer, surfer, adoptive dad to the furry Tango, and future husband of Jen).

Pretty handsome photo. Sarah had the pleasure of macking (I mean making) these shots of John.

John is a goof ball always making jokes... it's a quality I admire.

Zipping our bride in... Jen is an absolute peanut. She's super fit and athletic. Much to horror, someone (who's name will not be mentioned here) said "it's off by an inch!" as they were zipping her in. Luckily it was a false alarm, the dress fit like a glove.

The Snap! Blog Takes a Short Break

I know, how could we?!?!

But after much deliberation we realized that we were going kind of mental trying to get everything blogged AND shoot weddings on the weekends AND do our regular life with our families. So we decided that the only solution would be to just take the week and get our heads above water, in the office and out.

But not to worry, we'll be back into it soon enough...

We will resume with some First Snaps! starting on Monday August 30th and then on to Jen and John's wedding and then Laurie and Mike's wedding, see you soon!

Katie and Peter's Mini Photodate in Providence

I finally got the chance to meet Katie and Peter last week here at the office, we then headed out for a little photo excursion around Davol Sqaure. The evening light was amazing and we are so lucky to be right in the city with so many great little spots for photos! This is just a non impressive spot under the old highway. It's sometimes hard to tell people how great it is even if it's not a 'pretty' background. It's all about the light, doesn't matter where you are!

This is under the new 195 bridge, a weird sensation being under all of those cars going over.

I love the way she is looking at Peter in this shot.

So I actually did meet Katie once a long time ago for just a minute. When she was in college (Babson in Wellesly)she babysat for a good friend of mine who lives up in Wellesly.

When she left college and moved to San Francisco she met Peter, guess where he is from...Wellesly! Small world!

They are totally adorable...as you can see here.

There was a lot of pressure here on me to pick only photos where Katie's hair looks good. But I can't tell, I feel like it looks good in all the photos, I'm nervous. I guess if this post mysteriously disappears one day we'll know why.

They are getting married at the new Ocean House in Watch Hill in October...cannot wait to go there!!!!

This is Katie's grandmother's ring, she offered it to her right after she met Peter, she knew he was a keeper. Not that she would have, but how could she say no after he presented her with this ring?!?!

Carolyn and Dan's Photodate in Newport

I drove down to second beach last week to meet up with Carolyn and Dan who are getting married in October. I realized that this was my first trip to the beach this summer, in any capacity. So I was feeling lucky to have gotten the chance to be there and appreciate the beautiful weather and this beautiful place where I live, I love Little Rhody!
Look what we found in this clam shell...

They were a little nervous starting out, as usual. Carolyn was worried about Dan, but it turned out that she was more nervous that he was!

I would encourage couples to do a few tequila shots in the car before your portrait session, not really, but if it helps...

She doesn't really need tequila anyway, she's a natural beauty!

Is there anything more romantic than walking on the beach on a warm summer evening? I don't think so. Well maybe a few things but this is in the top 3 for sure!

See, the romance is oozing!

We were at second beach in Newport, it's so fabulous there, rocks, grass, sand. I guess that is what there is at every beach...but it seemed particularly fabulous to me for some reason.

Oh, I forgot to mention rose hips, lots of those too.

They will be getting married in October up in the Boston area, so these photos will be nothing like their wedding photos, kind of fun.

Charlotte and Jonathan's Photodate in Providence

You know how when you meet someone and you just instantly feel like you've known them a long time? Well that's how we feel about these two someones...

Charlotte and Jonathan.

We are very excited to be photographing their wedding next year at the Crane Estate, partly because it is a gorgeous venue that we have never been to, but mostly because Charlotte and Jonathan are so great.

I mean, really.

These guys are into all things snap!, which I must admit pleases me immensely. Snuggling, yes! Cute posing, yes! Funky backgrounds, yes! Working it for the photos, yes! Sense of humor, yes! These guys are like a snap! dream team.

Awwh.

So Charlotte and Jonathan met at the gym. Jonathan was chatting Charlotte up while they rode on the excercise bikes. Charlotte thought, great he's cute, smart, fit... but why is he still chatting and not asking me out? That's when she decided to take matters into her own hands and huffily ask, "Well are you you going to ask me for my number or not?"

Serioulsy Jonathan, what were you waiting for?

To add insult to injury Jonathan invoked the 48 hour waiting before calling rule...what?!

No matter, once Jonathan regained his sanity everything fell together nicely.

Clearly he adores Charlotte!

Charlotte liked this pose because she said it made her feel girly. Even those she's a knockout, she's really a jock at heart. Don't worry Charlotte we know how to girl you up!

Plus you shouldn't change, becuase Jonathan thinks your perfect and we do too.

Love this one.

We walked all over the east side, so pretty!

Charlotte and Jonathan moved to France for a year right after our shoot... we'll miss them, but what a fun adventure, for Charlotte anyway. Jonathan is French and his family has a home there. His Frenchness may explain some of that stubborn streak- but don't tell him I said that. I feel I can say that because after all, I have a son named Jacques. Oui, oui.

I love to talk about the weather...I'm from New England after all. But seriously, the weather on Saturday was amazing!!! Warm, and dry and just perfect. Anyway.

Enough about that, let's talk about Laurie and Mike, they are super nice and good looking, what more do you need?!

They had the wedding and reception at Aldrich Mansion, I got this shot while we were down at the Boathouse doing formals, I just love it.

So don't tell Mariah but I picked two photos again, I couldn't help it! I love this one too...

You may remember these guys from my little excursion to Hoboken last month. Well here they are, John traded is cool kicks for some dress shoes but he's still as cute as ever... and well Jen is just stunning. This is one of my fav pix from their day but it was pretty hard to pick considering what a beautiful day it was. J & J are headed to the Maldives on Monday but this photo should hold them over until they get back from their big adventure!
